When you submit your application documents to us, we first optimize your CV and completely anonymize it. Generally, we also do not use your application photo at this stage to prevent your identity from being revealed through a reverse image search (e.g., on Google). In this way, we aim to comprehensively protect your personal data.
If one of our clients shows genuine interest in you and wishes to invite you for an initial interview, we will first contact you to confirm your interest. Only after receiving your approval will we send your unanonymized CV and additional documents (e.g., certificates, references, etc.) to the relevant clinic or hospital and schedule an interview. Once you have accepted the invitation and an appointment has been set, we will send you our information sheet outlining the “dos and don’ts” for job interviews in Switzerland.
Like any other country, Switzerland has its own unique customs that should be observed to make a good first impression. Due to Switzerland’s high standard of living, cleanliness and aesthetics are highly valued. Doctors are no exception. They are expected not only to possess excellent expertise and a pleasant personality, but also to present themselves appropriately. They represent the clinic or hospital where they work – in every aspect of their lives.
Even though a CV essentially always contains the same components, we offer not only a downloadable form but also comprehensive advice on creating your application documents.
Only a truly compelling profile paints a clear picture of your strengths, your professional expertise, and your personal aspirations.
On this page, you will find detailed instructions that precisely describe how to structure a successful CV.
This will enable you to create a targeted and efficient CV that includes all relevant information.
Please read the following information carefully, complete the form, and send it to us.
General Structure:
Introduction: As a brief introduction, you should explain to your prospective employer your motivation for wanting to work in Switzerland. Briefly describe your medical interests and previous experience. Describe your current job, previous work experience, the direction you want to take in your career, and what you hope to learn.
Description of your current job: Describe your current work situation in detail. Your future employer needs to know your current skill level.
Description of your previous work: Write a detailed description of your previous work environments.
CV in tabular form: Please complete our CV form. You can download it as a Word document on this page. It is important that you complete all applicable sections of the form. Please do not use abbreviations – names and positions should always be written out in full. Please insert a recent passport photo in the upper right corner. Dress appropriately (men are welcome to wear a tie). And most importantly: Please smile! You will find an example for each section in the document. You can delete the examples and sections that do not apply to you.
Higher education: Traditionally, the most recently attended educational institution is always listed first. Therefore, start with your university. In addition to the name of the university, always include the dates of employment at each hospital. Please also include the website address of your university and all hospitals where you worked.
The following sections of your CV must be completed:
Personal Information: Begin your CV with general information about yourself: surname, first name, nationality, date and place of birth, gender, marital status, and number of children.
Professional Experience: Start with your current employer and then work backward chronologically through each stage of your career. Include the relevant years for each entry, describe your specialist training, briefly outline your work at each hospital, and provide the hospital’s website address. Ensure there are no gaps in your employment history and simply explain any career breaks.
Languages: Always list your native language first, followed by foreign languages in order of proficiency – the highest level first. Specify the proficiency level for each foreign language, but only for B2 level and above. Omit lower levels.
Continuing Education: If you have completed any continuing education courses, you can list them here. Please provide the title and a brief description of the continuing education course, as well as the start and end dates, location, and country.
Publications: Please ensure complete references are provided. Include the title, all authors and co-authors, the name of the journal, and the year of publication. The publication list should be attached in a separate document (.doc).
Technical Skills: This section describes your computer skills. For example, proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint), spreadsheets, internet use, etc.
Surgical Log: Surgeons and anesthesiologists should prepare a surgical log in tabular form. Your log should include all procedures/treatments you have performed to date. Please separate surgeries/procedures performed independently as the primary surgeon from those performed as an assistant. This surgical log should be attached in a separate PDF document. Please ensure that the figures match your official surgical logs.
Surgical Log Employer references: Please submit employment references from all your previous employers. Please combine all references into a single PDF file and send it separately by email. Please also include your medical license and your specialist medical diploma(s). Send the completed form and all supporting documents together to: info@MedHunterSwiss.ch
